Let’s face it. Everyone has to get their finances on point. The fact of the matter is that many people just don’t have the discipline to do what it takes to succeed in their finances. In America today, nearly 80 percent of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Around 70 percent don’t even have $1,000 put away in savings and even less have money saved for retirement. How are they going to live once they reach retirement age? Are they going to rely on social security? I hope not! The good news is that everyone can change at any moment. In this article, I am going to be breaking down three simple ways on how you can reach financial freedom for you and your family.

1. Create a budget
Unless you already have massive wealth that is basically indestructible, you need a budget. You should make it a goal to sit down with your significant other at the beginning of each month to get your finances in order. Find out how much you are going to bring home net each month and then put your expense and bills under than. At the end of the month, you should be at a net surplus. If you are not, focus on decreasing your expenses or increasing your income.

2. The 40% rule
The 40% rule is arguably the most important rule in finance. This is where you put away 40% of your gross income and store it into a sacred account at your bank. This process is going to be extremely difficult at first. In fact, you may not even be able to do it. Focus on growing your income first and be frugal with every dollar. Once you start putting this 40% away, you will gain financial confidence.

3. Now you may be wondering what you should do with that 40% of the stored money. Honestly, I would wait until you have at least $100,000 set aside so that you can make big investments. Until them, I would just keep reinvesting the little money that you do have back into yourself and your business. If you are doing this right, you will eventually hit that $100k mark. You can then start investing that money into stable investments.

In the end, financial freedom should be a goal for everyone. I hope his article helps you in reaching your dreams and fulfilling your true potential financially.
