During his speech at the National Sheriff’s Association 2020 Winter Legislative and Technology Conference, Attorney General Bill Barr said the Department of Justice will begin filing lawsuits against sanctuary cities and states. According to Mr. Barr, those left-wing cities and states violate federal immigration enforcement by giving shelter to aliens.
Mr. Barr is the president’s legal enforcer, according to the Washington Post. Barr is also the president’s protector. Barr recently said he plans to examine the information Rudy Giuliani put together in Ukraine. Mr. Barr claims the DOJ will vet that information to make sure the information is not Russian propaganda. Congressman Jerry Nadler wants Barr to explain why Rudy has an open door to the Justice Department instead of Mr. Barr following protocol when it comes to vetting sketchy information.
The attorney general also charged 4 Chinese military hackers with the 2017 Equifax information thief. Chinese hackers stole personal information from more than 4 million Americans. The four hackers are still in China, so arresting them for the crime is a longshot.
President Trump’s $4.8 trillion budget plan breaks the two-year agreement the White House made with Congress, so Chuck Schumer told the press the new budget won’t work. The budget increases military spending, but cuts domestic spending and changes funding for Medicare and Medicaid. Mr. Trump wants to cut Medicaid spending by $700 billion. Bernie Sanders called the budget an “immoral document.”
The Chinese government warned France not to exclude Huawei from building its 5G infrastructure because President Trump wants to bring the giant tech company to its knees. The Chinese told the French trade with them would suffer, and that would hurt France’s economy. France’s economy is on the verge of a recession, according to the EU president Ursula von der Leyen. If the Chinese punish France for banning Huawei, France’s economy will erode faster.
China’s economy is also eroding thanks to the coronavirus. Wall Street economists claim China’s GDP growth will take a 2.0 percent hit in the first quarter. The Chinese central bank injected billions into its economy after the Chinese new year celebration. But the central bank has to continue pumping billions into the economy to prevent further erosion.
President Xi finally came out from hiding dress in a white mask to show the Chinese TV cameras he’s not afraid of the virus. But with more than 40,000 cases on the books and more than 1,000 deaths, President Xi’s claim the government has the virus under control is a stretch. WTO officials claim the coronavirus outbreak is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of reported cases and deaths.
