Following the retirement of founder Carol A. Ammon on May 30, 2007, Roger H. Kimmel served as Chairman of the Board of Endo International, a health solutions company until Feb 2014. Focusing on providing both high-quality generic and specialty-branded pharmaceutical products, Endo is a leader in meeting patients’ needs for affordable and effective medication. Endo International’s corporate mission to provide safe and cost-effective medications that help to improve a patient’s quality of life.

Algos and Endo Merger
In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board at Endo, Roger H. Kimmel worked over two decades in a variety of executive roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Kimmel had previously worked as a Director for Algos Pharma from July 1996. When Algos and Endo merged in July 2000, Roger H. Kimmel became a director at Endo, later being promoted to Chairman in 2007 and serving in the capacity till Feb 2014.

Kimmel’s Education and Work History
Roger H. Kimmel received his bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he currently serves as an adjunct professor lecturing on corporate law. Roger H. Kimmel’s work experience includes decades working as a corporate attorney, including working as a rainmaker at the Latham & Watkins Los Angeles office. His legal career mostly focused on merger and acquisition work, ranging from motion picture production to private equity transactions. In April 2019, Chronicle Week reported that Kimmel has developed a sterling professional reputation through his many years of legal work as someone with a “reputation for excellence in the face of adversity.”

Determined to give back to others, Kimmel likes to lecture to legal students on a wide variety of issues they will face over their careers. Kimmel lectures on subjects ranging from the importance of client communication to presenting legal arguments, as well as other issues the students will likely face in their future professional endeavors.

Rothschild and PG&E
Roger H. Kimmel is currently a Vice-Chairman at the investment bank Rothschild Inc., where he’s been working since 2001. Prior to Rothschild, Kimmel worked at Latham for 5 years. Kimmel previously served as a Director on the Pacific Gas & Electric, PG&E, Board for many years. Kimmel served on the PG&E Board at a time when the company was going through a period of redefinition and restructuring, including preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the wake of California’s spate of wildfires in both 2017 and 2018. Kimmel was also previously a Director at Schiff Nutrition International until 2012.

University of Virginia Law School
In addition to his corporate work, Kimmel has devoted a significant amount of time to not-for-profit work. He served as Chairman of the Board on the University of Virginia’s Law School Foundation Board of Trustees from January 2009 through June 2015. Kimmel still enjoys sharing his wealth of knowledge by giving lectures at the University of Virginia’s law school, advising future lawyers and corporate executives on the challenges they’ll face and the skills they will need to face them.
